At Nilaa Coffee, we focus on introducing you to specialty coffee from lesser known and emerging origins in Southeast Asia. However, there is excellent coffee from all around the world and sometimes we find coffees that we just can’t keep to ourselves.

The Quartz Collection is a limited supply offering of unique specialty coffee from around the world by producers who share our commitment to quality, transparency, and sustainability. Each quarter we will highlight a different producer and origin (while supplies last).

Primavera Decaf | Brazil

Introducing Our First Decaf! We spent almost a year finding a decaf coffee that met all of our expectations: directly-traceable, sustainable and single origin. We hope you enjoy this one.

Fazenda Primavera is located in the Minas Gerais region of Brazil and has been recognized for it’s environmental sustainability as well as its excellent quality. Ricardo Tavares farms this land using state-of-the-art equipment and forward-thinking practices to minimize their footprint, including an onsite power plant and compost facility. This coffee is decaffeinated using the Swiss Water process—a clean and chemical-free process that removes the caffeine through soaking.    **Rainforest Alliance Certified**

Koke Honey | Ethiopia

Ninety-six small scale farmers, most of them multigenerational families, contributed their coffee cherries to this years’ harvest. This coffee is named for the Koke washing station, which is located in the town of the same name in the iconic Yirgacheffe district in Southern Ethiopia. Our importer-partner, Ally Coffee, has been working with the Koke washing station for more than five years, and their improvements have helped increase coffee quality and prices for local farmers in the region.

Finca La Pia |

Guatemala

Don Victor Calderon is a 5th generation coffee producer who is well-known for his innovative (and ecological) use of clay to protect his coffee plants from leaf rust. Finca La Pia is named after his mother and has gained a stellar reputation having placed in the 2020 Guatemala’s Cup of Excellence competition. This coffee is from a microlot of 100% Orange Bourbon that Don Victor began cultivating more than five years ago.  It is a unique cultivar that yields a sweet and complex cup with a creamy texture and bright fruit notes.
